Raj Kundra Responds to ED Raid, Calls for Media Respect and Clarification
Businessman Raj Kundra, husband of actress Shilpa Shetty Kundra, has issued a statement on social media following the recent raid at his residence by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Kundra emphasized that he is fully cooperating with the authorities and expressed his displeasure with the media for linking his wife to matters that are unrelated to her.
In a detailed post shared on his Instagram Stories on Saturday, Kundra wrote, “To whom it may concern, While the media seems to have a flair for drama, let’s set the record straight: I’m fully complying with the ongoing investigation that has been unfolding for the last four years. As for the claims of ‘associates’, ‘pornography’, and ‘money laundering’, let’s just say that no amount of sensationalism will cloud the truth. In the end, justice will prevail.”
Kundra also made a direct appeal to the media, stating, “It’s unacceptable to repeatedly drag my wife’s name into unrelated matters. Please respect the boundaries. #ED.”
The ED’s recent searches are part of an ongoing investigation into an alleged money laundering case. On October 3, Kundra, who is facing allegations of money laundering through bitcoin transactions, was issued a notice by the Enforcement Directorate to vacate his properties in Juhu and Pune. He subsequently filed a petition with the Mumbai High Court challenging the notice.
Kundra had previously been arrested by the Mumbai Crime Branch in July 2021 in connection with a case involving accusations of pornography and related charges under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Information Technology Act. He was granted bail later that year.
Kundra’s public statement reflects his efforts to set the record straight while urging respect for his family during an ongoing legal process.
