Hanumangarh’s Mahesh Kumar Tops NEET UG 2025 with 686 Marks; Rajasthan Shines Again

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced the results of the NEET UG 2025, the premier entrance examination for undergraduate medical courses across India. In a proud moment for Rajasthan, Mahesh Kumar from Hanumangarh has emerged as the All India Rank 1 (AIR 1) topper, securing 686 out of 720 marks.

Mahesh, a student of a reputed coaching institute in Sikar, has been preparing rigorously for the past three years, driven by his dream of becoming a doctor. His journey to the top has been a story of hard work, discipline, and resilience. Coming from a modest family background with both parents in government service, Mahesh’s achievement has brought immense pride to his family, hometown, and state.

His victory has once again placed Sikar on the map as a growing powerhouse for competitive exam coaching, particularly in medical and engineering streams.

This year, over 20 lakh students appeared for NEET UG 2025, held on May 4, making it one of the largest entrance exams in the country. The official results and final answer key are now available on the NTA’s portals — neet.nta.nic.in and nta.ac.in.

Candidates can log in with their credentials to view:

  • Subject-wise scores
  • Total marks
  • Percentile rank
  • Qualifying status

In addition, the cut-off scores for various categories — including MBBS and BDS admissions — are expected to be released soon. In 2024, the cut-off percentile was 50% for General category candidates and 40% for OBC, SC, and ST categories. This year’s cut-offs will be determined based on the highest marks in the national merit list.

Qualified candidates will now proceed to the next phase — centralized counselling, which will be conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for All India Quota (AIQ) seats. State-wise counselling for state quota seats will be managed by respective state authorities.

The NTA has advised all successful aspirants to:

  • Download and secure their scorecards
  • Stay updated on counselling schedules and
  • Monitor official websites for cut-off updates and documentation guidelines
