J&K BJP Highlights Central Laws and Future Welfare Plans Post-Article 370 Abrogation
Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday underscored the significant legislative and welfare changes enacted since the abrogation of Article 370. The party reported that 890 central laws have been implemented in the Union Territory (UT) since the historic constitutional change.
J&K BJP spokesperson Y. V. Sharma highlighted that, in addition to the introduction of these laws, 209 laws from the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir have been repealed. Sharma emphasized the transformative impact of these legislative adjustments on the region.
Looking ahead, Sharma outlined the BJP’s future plans should the party come to power in Jammu and Kashmir. Key proposals include the allocation of five marlas of land to landless individuals and the establishment of separate colonies for the poor. Additionally, the party aims to provide affordable healthcare and essential supplies to underprivileged communities.
Specific future initiatives include distributing ten kilograms of rice and one kilogram of sugar to the poor and implementing a yearly pension of ₹18,000 for the senior-most woman in every family. Furthermore, the monthly pensions for widows, the physically challenged, and the elderly are set to increase to ₹3,000 from the current ₹1,000.
Sharma reiterated the BJP’s commitment to the welfare of the marginalized and deprived, reflecting the party’s promise to address the needs of the most vulnerable in society as outlined in their ‘Sankalp Patra’ (manifesto).
