Rashmika Mandanna Apologizes for Interview Mix-Up, Clarifies ‘Ghilli’ Mistake
Rashmika Mandanna, affectionately called the “National Crush,” recently took to social media to apologize for a mix-up she made during an interview. The actress had mentioned that the first film she watched in a theater was Ghilli, starring Tamil actor Vijay, and expressed her admiration for his work. However, in the same interview, Rashmika mistakenly referred to Ghilli as a remake of the Telugu film Pokiri, when, in fact, Ghilli is a remake of the Telugu film Okkadu.
The error quickly gained attention online, with netizens playfully teasing the actress for the slip-up. The clip from the interview went viral, with many fans pointing out the mistake.
In a lighthearted response on “X” (formerly Twitter), Rashmika humorously acknowledged the mix-up, writing in Telugu:
“Yes, I realized this after the interview was over… Sorry! ‘Ghilli’ is a remake of ‘Okkadu,’ while ‘Pokiri’ was remade in Tamil with the same title. By then, posts about my mistake were already viral on social media. Sorry, sorry… my bad! But I truly love all the movies they’ve acted in.”
Despite the minor mistake, Rashmika’s career continues to soar. She is currently celebrating the success of Pushpa: The Rule (Pushpa 2), which has already grossed over ₹1,500 crore globally, setting numerous records, especially in Bollywood.
The actress is also busy with several upcoming projects, including Chhava, Sikandar, The Girlfriend, and Kubera, as she remains one of the most sought-after stars in the Indian film industry.
