Ravindra Jadeja Dismisses Retirement Rumors Following Champions Trophy Victory
Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has put to rest recent speculations about his retirement from One Day Internationals (ODIs). Rumors had circulated suggesting that Jadeja would announce his retirement following India’s victory in the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. These reports gained momentum after the final match against New Zealand when Virat Kohli embraced Jadeja after he completed his quota of overs, leading to speculation that it was a farewell gesture.
Responding to these rumors, Jadeja took to social media, writing, “Please don’t spread baseless rumors… Thank you.” His statement seemed to confirm that he plans to continue playing ODIs for the foreseeable future.
Last year, following India’s victory in the T20 World Cup, Jadeja, along with Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, announced their retirement from T20 internationals. Reports had also suggested that the trio might retire from ODIs if India won the 2025 Champions Trophy. However, both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli had already dismissed such claims in the past.
