RCB Scraps Victory Parade Plans; Fans to Celebrate Historic IPL 2025 Win at Chinnaswamy Stadium
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), fresh off their thrilling maiden Indian Premier League (IPL) title win, will not be holding the much-anticipated open-top bus victory parade through Bengaluru, the city’s traffic police announced on Wednesday.
The celebratory procession, originally planned to begin at 5 PM from Vidhana Soudha and conclude with a grand felicitation ceremony at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, has now been trimmed down to a single venue event due to logistical and security concerns.
A social media post from the Bengaluru Traffic Police confirmed the update, stating:
“There will be a felicitation function for the RCB team at Chinnaswamy Stadium from 5 PM to 6 PM. Public are advised to avoid roads surrounding Vidhana Soudha and Chinnaswamy Stadium from 3 PM to 8 PM. There will be NO victory parade.”
Authorities urged fans to use the Namma Metro and other public transportation, citing limited parking availability around the venue. Entry to the stadium will be strictly restricted to those with valid passes, as per the official traffic advisory. The parade cancellation follows the RCB team’s scheduled meeting with Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah earlier in the day — a symbolic moment after their breakthrough triumph that ended an 18-season wait.
RCB, under the captaincy of Rajat Patidar, clinched the IPL 2025 title in a dramatic final at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on Tuesday. They edged past Punjab Kings, led by Shreyas Iyer, with a nail-biting six-run win that sent fans into a frenzy across the cricketing world. Veteran icon Virat Kohli played a pivotal role yet again, top-scoring with a composed 43 off 35 deliveries as RCB posted a competitive 190/9. The real star of the night, however, was Krunal Pandya, whose sensational spell of 2/17 in four overs earned him the Player of the Match as RCB held Punjab to 184/7.
With this victory, RCB not only broke their championship drought but also became the fourth different team to win the IPL title in as many years, signaling a new era of competitive balance in the league. Despite the parade cancellation, the city is expected to be drenched in celebratory spirit as thousands of fans gear up to cheer their team during the felicitation event at their beloved Chinnaswamy Stadium.
