RCB Clinch Top Spot with Six-Wicket Win Over DC

In a thrilling IPL 2025 encounter at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by six wickets, propelling them to the top of the points table. The match was marked by Krunal Pandya’s all-round brilliance, Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s incisive bowling, and a composed half-century from Virat Kohli.

RCB’s Dominant Bowling Performance

Opting to bowl first, RCB’s bowlers exploited the two-paced pitch effectively. Bhuvneshwar Kumar led the attack with figures of 3/33, while Josh Hazlewood supported well with 2/36. The spin duo of Krunal Pandya and Suyash Sharma combined for 1/50 in eight overs, stifling DC’s middle order. DC managed to post 162/8, the lowest first innings total at this venue since 2024.

RCB’s Chase and Pandya’s Match-Winning Knock

RCB’s chase faltered early with the top order collapsing to 26/3. However, Krunal Pandya anchored the innings with a scintillating 73* off 47 balls, including five fours and four sixes. He was well-supported by Virat Kohli, who contributed a steady 51 off 47 balls. The pair shared a match-winning 119-run stand for the fourth wicket. Tim David’s quickfire 21* off 5 balls sealed the victory with nine balls to spare.
