Telangana CM Seeks ₹55,652 Crore for Development Projects in Hyderabad
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has requested Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar to allocate funds for several key development initiatives under various central schemes. Speaking at a review meeting focused on urban development and power department initiatives, CM Reddy sought ₹55,652 crore for developmental projects aimed at transforming Greater Hyderabad.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister highlighted that 65% of Telangana’s population resides in urban areas, emphasizing the significance of urban development for the state’s growth. He outlined a series of ambitious projects, including the construction of elevated corridors, metro connectivity, the East-West Corridor, Regional Ring Road, and the Musi Riverfront Development, among others. These projects are integral to Telangana’s vision of becoming a ₹1 lakh crore economy.
The Chief Minister also stressed the need for approval of 20 lakh houses under the PM Awas Yojana (Urban) to meet the housing demands in the state. Revanth Reddy proposed the development of six metro corridors under Metro Phase-2 and sought ₹24,269 crore for the construction of these vital infrastructure projects.
In addition, the Chief Minister appealed for ₹10,000 crore to support the Musi Riverfront Development project and ₹4,170 crore for the Warangal underground drainage system. He also updated Union Minister Khattar on the progress of various central schemes being implemented in Telangana, urging continued support for the state’s rapid urban development.
