Telangana celebrated its Formation Day with grandeur and patriotic fervor on Sunday, with festivities held across the state. The main state-level event took place at the Parade Ground in Secunderabad, where Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy led the celebrations by unfurling the national flag, marking the state’s 11th year since its formation in 2014.
Following the flag hoisting, the Chief Minister was ceremoniously escorted in an open-top jeep as he received a guard of honour from the state police and security personnel.
Adding a global dimension to the occasion, Kazuhisa Takechi, Mayor of Kitakyushu City in Japan, graced the event as the chief guest, symbolizing Telangana’s growing international ties and cultural diplomacy.
The celebrations featured a vibrant showcase of cultural performances, with traditional music, dance, and visual art forms capturing the rich heritage and spirit of Telangana. The cultural presentations at the Parade Ground were widely appreciated for their artistic excellence and patriotic themes.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, in his address, paid tribute to the martyrs of the Telangana movement and reiterated his government’s commitment to realizing the dreams that inspired the statehood struggle. He emphasized inclusive development, empowerment of youth, and global partnerships as key priorities for the future.
