Robinhood Ticket Price Hike Clarified by Makers: Select Locations Only
The upcoming film Robinhood, starring Nithiin and directed by Venky Kudumula, has recently come under scrutiny for reports suggesting a hike in ticket prices ahead of its release. The government of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana has generally been lenient towards the Telugu film industry, allowing makers to implement ticket price hikes for their films. In the case of Robinhood, it was initially reported that ticket prices would be raised by Rs 50 in single screens and Rs 75 in multiplexes in Andhra Pradesh.
This move sparked negative reactions from some sections of the audience, with many questioning the rationale behind such hikes, especially given that Robinhood isn’t categorized as a big event film. Critics felt the price hikes were unjustified for a film of this nature.
In response to the backlash, the makers of Robinhood have issued a clarification. According to their statement, the price hikes are not being implemented across all theatres but are confined to a select few premium locations in Andhra Pradesh. The statement reads:
“There are unverified reports & news that Robinhood will have hiked prices in theatres. All these are completely baseless. Our intention with the film is to give wholesome entertainment at affordable prices. The hikes are only applicable at a few select premium locations in Andhra Pradesh. The rest of Andhra Pradesh and all of Telangana will have normal prices at all centres. Enjoy Robinhood at your nearest theatres and get entertained to the fullest.”
This clarification puts an end to any confusion regarding ticket pricing for the film, ensuring that fans across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana can enjoy the movie at standard prices. It’s commendable that the makers took swift action to address the matter before it escalated, allowing audiences to enjoy Robinhood without any concerns about inflated ticket costs.
