After a prolonged hiatus, Telugu actor Nara Rohith is all set to make a striking return to the silver screen with his upcoming film Bhairavam. Known for balancing serious cinema with commercial appeal, Rohith recently sat down for a candid conversation on a popular YouTube platform, sharing personal insights on his family, his career choices, and the deep-rooted influence of his uncle and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Nara Chandrababu Naidu.
Despite hailing from a politically influential family, Rohith has consistently forged his path in the film industry. In the interview, he spoke from the heart about the people who have been his pillars of strength — especially Chandrababu Naidu and his aunt, Nara Bhuvaneshwari.
“If not for their constant support, none of us would be where we are today,” he said. Rohith particularly credited his uncle for teaching him the value of active listening — a trait he believes is rare and remarkable. “No matter who speaks to him, he gives his full attention. It’s something I’ve been trying to learn.”
Rohith also touched on the emotional turmoil that followed the loss of his father, Nara Ramamurthy Naidu. He recalled how deeply Chandrababu Naidu was affected by the passing of his younger brother. “He was emotionally broken for days. He personally oversaw my father’s treatment and checked in with the doctors every week. That kind of involvement is rare,” Rohith said, visibly moved.
Reflecting on his cousin Nara Lokesh’s political resurgence, Rohith described his elder brother’s transformation between 2019 and 2024 as “inspiring.” He recalled their close childhood bond and shared nostalgic moments from their time in Tirupati — a time when family lunches and movie nights were a weekly tradition.
On the professional front, Rohith addressed past speculation regarding his film appearances aligning with the Telugu Desam Party’s (TDP) tenure in power. “I began my acting career in 2009, when the TDP wasn’t even in power. The films released between 2014 and 2019 were signed much earlier,” he clarified. He admitted to going through a creative rut, chasing commercial success at the expense of personal satisfaction.
“I wasn’t happy. I was doing films for numbers, not stories. Eventually, I stepped away to focus on scripts that truly resonated with me,” he explained. However, what was meant to be a brief pause extended due to the pandemic and his father’s illness.
In a heartfelt revelation, Rohith also confirmed that his marriage has been arranged with Siri, with blessings from both families. “When I told my uncle, he immediately gave his approval. Our happiness has always been his priority,” he shared, adding that his engagement was held with the full support of his aunt.
On the camaraderie front, Rohith highlighted his close friendships with actors Sri Vishnu, Naga Shaurya, and Manoj Manchu. He expressed excitement for Bhairavam, which also stars Manoj and Bellamkonda Srinivas under the direction of Vijay. Rohith hopes the film will mark a successful chapter not only in his career but for the entire team.
With Bhairavam, Rohith seems ready to reclaim his space in the industry — this time, with clarity, conviction, and a deeper sense of purpose.
