In December last year, the action-packed film “Salaar,” featuring Prabhas and directed by Prashanth Neel, was released to mixed reviews but satisfactory box office collections. Starring Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran and Shruti Haasan in significant roles, the film’s sequel was anticipated to commence production promptly. However, recent industry speculations indicate a temporary halt to the plans for the sequel.
Reports suggest that “Salaar 2” has been indefinitely postponed. Director Prashanth Neel is purportedly set to collaborate with Jr. NTR for a new project before returning to “Salaar 2.” Production for this upcoming venture is scheduled to begin after the release of their current film.
For reasons undisclosed, Prashanth Neel appears to have prioritized the NTR project over “Salaar 2” for the time being. While the final outcome remains to be seen, the postponement of “Salaar 2” would undoubtedly come as unexpected news for fans of Prabhas.
Meanwhile, Prabhas remains occupied with various projects under the Mythri Movie Makers banner. He is currently in the final stages of shooting for “Kalki 2898 AD,” directed by Nag Ashwin. Following its completion, Prabhas is slated to commence filming for Maruthi’s “The Raja Saab,” followed by a project with Hanu Raghavapudi and Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s “Spirit.”
