“Andhra Pradesh Soldier Martyred in LoC Shelling: State Mourns Murali Nayak’s Sacrifice”
The state of Andhra Pradesh is in mourning following the death of Murali Nayak, a brave soldier who was martyred in heavy cross-border shelling by Pakistani forces along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.
Hailing from Kallithanda village in the Gaddamthanda panchayat of Sri Sathya Sai district, Nayak was stationed on the front lines when the shelling occurred. The exact day of his death—Wednesday or Thursday—is yet to be confirmed. His mortal remains are expected to arrive in his hometown on Saturday, where his final rites will be conducted with full state honors.
Murali Nayak, who was unmarried, is remembered as a courageous and dedicated serviceman. His sacrifice has deeply moved the state’s leadership and citizens alike. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed his heartfelt condolences on social media:
“Deeply saddened by the loss of our brave soldier, Murali Nayak, from Gorantla Mandal, Penukonda Constituency. His supreme sacrifice in defense of the nation will never be forgotten. My thoughts are with his grieving family.”
Nara Lokesh, Minister for Human Resources Development and son of the Chief Minister, also paid tribute to the fallen hero:
“Murali’s courage on the battlefield during Operation Sindoor stands as a beacon of pride for Andhra Pradesh. His valor reflects the indomitable spirit of our state.”
Lokesh announced that Nayak’s last rites would be conducted with full state honors and assured that the government will provide complete support to his family.
Murali Nayak is the first soldier from Andhra Pradesh to be martyred in the ongoing Operation Sindoor, a military initiative launched in response to the heinous April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which claimed 26 innocent lives, including two from Andhra Pradesh.
As the nation salutes Murali Nayak’s sacrifice, his story echoes as a somber reminder of the price paid by those who protect our borders.
