Samsung Launches Galaxy M56 5G in India with Sleek Design, Enhanced Camera and 6 Years of Updates
Global tech giant Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy M56 5G in India, the latest addition to its popular Galaxy M series. Positioned as the successor to last year’s well-received M55, the new smartphone brings a host of upgrades in performance, camera capabilities, display quality, and long-term software support.
Enhanced Display and Design
The Galaxy M56 5G boasts a 6.73-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED Plus display, offering a 120Hz refresh rate and Vision Booster technology to enhance viewing under different lighting conditions. Samsung notes that the display provides higher peak brightness compared to its predecessor, ensuring an improved visual experience.
In terms of aesthetics, the M56 5G is exceptionally slim at just 7.2mm and lightweight at 180 grams, making it one of the slimmest smartphones in its segment. It is available in Black and Light Green color variants, with a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus Plus layer protecting the display.
Powerful Performance and Long-Term Support
Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by Samsung’s Exynos 1480 processor, paired with One UI 7 based on Android 15. In a major move to appeal to long-term users, Samsung has committed to six years of major OS and security updates, extending support through 2030.
Advanced Camera Features
The Galaxy M56 5G features a triple rear camera setup, headlined by a 50MP primary sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). This is complemented by an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP macro camera. For selfies and video calls, the phone sports a 12MP front camera.
Samsung has also introduced AI-powered imaging features including Object Eraser and Image Clipper, aimed at enhancing photo editing capabilities directly on the device.
Battery and Charging
The device houses a 5,000mAh battery that supports 45W fast charging, though Samsung clarified that no charger will be included in the box—only a USB Type-C cable will be provided.
Connectivity and Pricing
Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, and NFC. The Galaxy M56 5G is priced at ₹27,999 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant, with a 256GB option also available.
Sales for the device will begin April 23 on Amazon India and the Samsung India website. As part of a launch offer, customers using HDFC Bank cards can avail a ₹3,000 instant discount, the company said.
With a refined design, capable hardware, and extended software support, the Galaxy M56 5G looks poised to strengthen Samsung’s presence in the competitive mid-range smartphone segment.
