Riyadh: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) has formally submitted its bid to host the FIFA World Cup 2034, presenting the bid book at a ceremony held in Paris, France. The submission took place on Monday, July 29, with a delegation that included Saudi Minister of Sports Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal, President of the Saudi Football Federation (SAFF) Yasser Al-Misehal, and two young talents affiliated with SAFF.
The bid represents a significant milestone for Saudi Arabia, bolstered by the support of King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA). This submission marks the completion of the third stage in the official bid process for hosting the 2034 FIFA World Cup.
Earlier on the same day, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman endorsed the Kingdom’s bid, underlining the importance of this endeavor for Saudi Arabia. The forthcoming stages will involve official evaluations and visits by FIFA representatives. The final decision on the host nation for the World Cup 2034 is scheduled to be announced on December 11.
