“In Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the Makkah police have apprehended a resident for uttering blasphemous remarks regarding Allah in a video posted on X platform. The Saudi Arabia’s General Directorate of Public Security disclosed this development on Tuesday, May 14th.
According to the directorate, the individual in question has been detained, and legal measures have been initiated against them. Subsequently, they have been referred to the public prosecution for their dissemination of offensive content on a social media platform.
Under Saudi Arabia’s anti-hate legislation, blasphemy against Allah, the prophets, or their spouses carries severe penalties, including a minimum prison term of seven years, a fine of 500,000 Saudi Riyals, or both.”
