In a significant step towards global outreach and inclusivity, the General Presidency for Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has launched its initiative to translate the Arafat Day sermon into 35 languages during the Haj 1446 AH / 2025 season, aiming to reach approximately five million Muslims worldwide.

This year marks the eighth consecutive edition of this multilingual translation project, which reflects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s commitment to conveying the values of moderation, unity, and peace to the global Muslim community.

A Global Message from Masjid Al-Nimra

The sermon will be delivered from Masjid Al-Nimra on Mount Arafat, prior to the Dhuhr and Asr prayers, which are performed together on the Day of Arafat — the spiritual pinnacle of the Hajj pilgrimage — falling on Thursday, June 5, 2025 (9 Dhul Hijjah 1446 AH).

By royal order of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Sheikh Saleh bin Humaid has been appointed to deliver this year’s sermon.

35 Languages to Foster Inclusivity

The sermon will be translated into a diverse range of languages, including:

Arabic, Urdu, English, French, Indonesian, Farsi, Hausa, Mandarin Chinese, Russian, Bengali, Turkish, Malay, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, German, Tagalog, Amharic, Bosnian, Hindi, Dutch, Thai, Malayalam, Swahili, Pashto, Tamil, Punjabi, Azerbaijani, Swedish, Uzbek, Albanian, Fulani, Somali, Rohingya, and Yoruba.

Sheikh Abdulrahman Al-Sudais, President of Religious Affairs, emphasized that early preparations were made to ensure the success of the initiative and to promote a moderate and inclusive message that resonates across linguistic and cultural boundaries.

“Delivering a unified and moderate message to the global Muslim community remains a cornerstone of our mission,” Sheikh Al-Sudais stated.

A Message Beyond Borders

The Arafat sermon is one of the most significant religious addresses in Islam, encapsulating the core values of the faith and the purpose of Hajj. By broadcasting this sermon to a global audience in dozens of languages, Saudi Arabia continues its efforts to make the message of Arafat accessible, inclusive, and unifying for Muslims around the world.
