Shiv Sena Demands Action Against Owaisi Brothers for Allegedly Inciting Violence in Solapur
Mumbai: The Shiv Sena has called for immediate action against All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leaders Asaduddin Owaisi and his brother Akbaruddin Owaisi over allegations of inciting violence and disturbing public peace through inflammatory speeches made at a public meeting in Solapur. In a letter addressed to Maharashtra’s Chief Election Officer and the Mumbai Police Commissioner on Saturday, Shiv Sena’s social media incharge Rahool Kanal demanded a thorough investigation and legal action against the Owaisi brothers.
Kanal claimed that the speeches delivered by the Owaisi brothers hurt the religious sentiments of different communities in the state and were intended to provoke violence. He argued that the speeches contained provocative statements that could incite communal discord, disturb public peace, and promote enmity between religious groups.
Kanal further pointed out that the alleged inflammatory speeches violated Section 196 and Section 61 of the Bombay Police Act, 1951, as well as relevant provisions of the Information Technology Act, 2000, regarding the dissemination of harmful and inflammatory content. He emphasized that such speeches posed a serious threat to public order and safety, noting that their criminal nature was clear, as they appeared to target the unity and harmony of society.
The Shiv Sena leader has demanded that an FIR be registered against both Asaduddin and Akbaruddin Owaisi, and that a full investigation be conducted to verify the authenticity of the video recordings of the speeches and their distribution. Kanal also insisted on appropriate legal action to hold the Owaisi brothers accountable and to prevent future instances of inflammatory rhetoric that could undermine communal harmony in the state.
This development has escalated tensions in the state, with both political and law enforcement authorities under increasing pressure to respond swiftly to these serious allegations.
