In a significant political development, the Bharateeya Rashtra Samithi (BRS) faced another setback as Serilingampally MLA Arikepudi Gandhi switched allegiance to the Congress. CM Revanth Reddy officially welcomed Gandhi into the party by draping him with a Congress scarf. Alongside Gandhi, numerous followers also joined the Congress, marking a notable shift in political loyalty.
This latest defection brings the total number of BRS MLAs who have joined the Congress to nine. The list includes Rajendranagar MLA Prakash Goud, Gadwala MLA Bandla Krishnamohan Reddy, Bansuvada MLA Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, Chevella MLA Kale Yadayah, Khairatabad MLA Dan Nagender, Bhadrachalam MLA Tellam Venkatarao, Station Ghanpur MLA Kadiam Srihari, and Jagityala MLA Sanjay Kumar.
Additionally, several key corporators from Serilingampally have also joined the Congress. Among them are Serilingampally Corporator Nagender Yadav, Miyapur Corporator Uppalapathi Srikanth, Chandanagar Corporator Manjula Raghunath Reddy, and Hydernagar Corporator Narne Srinivas. The mass defection took place in the presence of CM Revanth Reddy, signaling a strengthening of the Congress’s position in the region.
