Mumbai: Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami addressed swirling rumors about his alleged romantic involvement with tennis star Sania Mirza in a candid conversation with Shubhankar Mishra on YouTube.
Speculations arose following Sania Mirza’s divorce from Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik, sparking unfounded claims and manipulated images on social media suggesting a potential relationship and even marriage between Shami and Mirza.
Expressing his dismay, Shami clarified, “It is weird and done purposely for some lame fun. But what can be done? If I open my phone then I could see those memes.” He emphasized the harmful impact of such false information on individuals’ lives.

Responding to the speculation, Sania Mirza’s father, Imran Mirza, unequivocally dismissed the rumors as baseless, asserting, “This is all nonsense. She has not even met him.”
