In the Mumbai North West constituency, the Lok Sabha election results garnered significant attention due to a narrow victory margin. Ravindra Waikar of Shiv Sena emerged victorious over Amol Kirtikar of Shiv Sena (UBT) by a margin of merely 48 votes. Waikar secured 4,52,644 votes, narrowly surpassing Kirtikar who received 4,52,596 votes.
Amol Kirtikar, son of Gajanan Kirtikar, was the contender in this closely watched electoral contest. Despite earlier aspirations under BJP’s “Mission 45” for Maharashtra, the party’s seat tally reduced to 10 as reported by the Election Commission of India (ECI). BJP had contested 28 seats in alliance with Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar’s NCP.
