Shruti Haasan Alerts Fans After X Account Gets Hacked
Actress, singer, and songwriter Shruti Haasan—daughter of veteran actor and politician Kamal Haasan—on Tuesday revealed that her account on X.com (formerly Twitter) had been hacked. She informed her followers via the Instagram Stories section of her official handle.
“Hi Lovelies, just want to let you know my Twitter account has been hacked. That’s not me posting. So, don’t interact with that page till I’m back please,” Shruti wrote.
Her announcement comes amidst a growing concern over the security of celebrity social media accounts. Just last week, National Award-winning music director D Imman confirmed that he had successfully recovered his hacked X account, which had been compromised in March.
Imman had earlier taken to Instagram on March 7 to alert fans about the breach. “The hacker has changed the email and password associated with my account and has even posted content within the last 24 hours,” he had said, while urging his followers to disregard any suspicious activity.
On June 18, Imman shared an official update confirming that his account had been retrieved. “Happy to inform you all that I am back on X (Twitter) and my account has been successfully retrieved! Thank you for your patience and love,” he said in a statement, accompanied by a poster thanking his supporters and the platform’s technical team.
Before Imman, actress and producer Khushbu Sundar also faced a similar situation when her account was hacked. She eventually managed to regain control with the help of X’s support.
The series of incidents has raised concerns about the growing vulnerability of high-profile personalities on digital platforms. As cyber threats become increasingly common, celebrities are urging fans to stay cautious and avoid engaging with suspicious content until their accounts are secured.
Shruti Haasan has yet to confirm when she expects to regain access to her X handle.
