In a ceremony at Gandhinagar on Monday, Minister Kollu Ravindra lauded Sugunamma’s appointment as Chairperson of the Andhra Pradesh Greening and Beautification Corporation, citing her as a model of how dedication and hard work lead to leadership roles.
“Sugunamma may have narrowly missed the Tirupati assembly seat, but her efforts were instrumental in securing victory for our alliance candidate,” said Ravindra. “She has already served Tirupati with distinction, and now she will guide the entire state toward cleaner, greener development.”
Sugunamma, taking the podium after the felicitation, expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for entrusting her with this “key post” and vowed to justify the confidence placed in her. “I will work tirelessly to enhance Tirupati’s spiritual beauty and to blanket Amaravati in lush greenery,” she pledged.
The event brought together a host of dignitaries, including Government Whip Bonda Umamaheswara Rao, MLAs Pulavarthi Nani and Sravani, MLC Greeshma, and former MLC Ailapuram Venkaiah, all of whom joined Minister Ravindra in honoring Sugunamma’s new role.
As Chairperson, Sugunamma is charged with spearheading statewide initiatives to expand urban and rural green cover, improve public spaces, and integrate sustainable landscaping practices—key elements in Andhra Pradesh’s vision for holistic development.
