Title: Supreme Court Upholds ACB Court’s Jurisdiction in Cash for Vote Case Against CM Revanth Reddy

Hyderabad: The Supreme Court has declined to transfer the high-profile ‘cash for vote’ case from the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) court to the Telangana High Court, as sought by BRS MLA G Jagadish Reddy. In a ruling delivered on September 18, the Court directed the ACB to continue its proceedings without interference from Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.

The Supreme Court noted that Reddy’s assertion that Revanth Reddy, who also serves as the state’s home minister, could influence the investigation was merely an assumption lacking evidence. The Court advised the petitioner to approach the judicial system if any actual interference arises in the future.

Additionally, the apex court dismissed the defense counsel’s request for the case to be investigated under the supervision of a sitting Supreme Court judge, emphasizing that even if the case were transferred to the Telangana High Court, the ACB would remain the investigating agency.

With no substantiated claims of interference by the Chief Minister, the Supreme Court has opted not to entertain the petition, allowing the ACB to proceed with its investigation.
