TDP Reverses YCP’s Renaming of NTR University
The YS Jagan-led YSR Congress Party (YCP) government made a controversial decision to rename the legendary NTR University as YSR University, a move that was widely opposed by the public.
With the recent and decisive victory of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), the original name of NTR University is being restored.
Local TDP leaders and activists have already started reversing the name change imposed by the YCP government. Videos circulating on social media show the dismantling of the YSR University signage, with TDP supporters removing the lettering.
It is anticipated that the incoming Telugu Desam government will soon officially rename the university back to NTR University, reinstating its original name.
