Vallabhaneni Vamsi and PSR Anjaneyulu Under Judicial Remand Amidst Political Controversy
Former Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi and former Andhra Pradesh Intelligence Chief PSR Anjaneyulu are currently under judicial remand at the Vijayawada district jail. Vamsi, a YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader, was arrested in connection with the alleged kidnapping and assault of TDP functionary Satyavardhan during an attack on the Gannavaram TDP office. He faces charges under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act .
PSR Anjaneyulu, who served as the Intelligence Chief, was arrested in a separate case and is also lodged in the same facility. The two individuals have a history of political rivalry, having previously exchanged serious allegations against each other.
In a recent development, Buddha Venkanna, a prominent leader of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), made a provocative suggestion on the social media platform X. Addressing the jail superintendent, Venkanna proposed that Vamsi and Anjaneyulu be placed in the same jail cell. He remarked that Vamsi might need company during his remand and that Anjaneyulu reportedly prefers not to be alone, regardless of his location. Venkanna claimed that the people of the state wish for both individuals to be housed together .
