The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) commemorated the 102nd birth anniversary of its iconic founder, Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR), with heartfelt tributes during the ongoing Mahanadu celebrations. Senior party leaders, including Ashok Gajapathi Raju, emphasized NTR’s unparalleled contribution to the political and cultural identity of the Telugu people.
Addressing the gathering, Ashok Gajapathi Raju described NTR as “an incomparable figure in Indian political history” and urged everyone to draw inspiration from his legacy. “It has been my privilege to have walked the political journey alongside NTR. As long as the Telugu community exists, the Telugu Desam Party will endure. Despite numerous setbacks, Chandrababu Naidu has never faltered — he must continue to guide this party like the head of a resilient family,” Raju remarked.
A special resolution honoring NTR was moved by Ashok Gajapathi Raju during the session, and it received strong support from senior leaders Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary and Chinna Rajappa.
Minister Payyavula Keshav also delivered a stirring tribute, stating, “NTR was the man who elevated the self-respect of the Telugu people to unparalleled heights. He rewrote the political history of the Telugu nation and illuminated its future through his leadership.”
The proceedings of the House of Representatives commenced following the tribute ceremony, marked by reflection, renewed commitment, and a collective call to uphold the values NTR championed.
