TDP Veteran and Former MP Sugavasi Palakonda Rayudu Passes Away at 80
Senior Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader and former Member of Parliament Sugavasi Palakonda Rayudu passed away early Monday at the age of 80, following health complications. A respected figure in Andhra Pradesh politics, Rayudu breathed his last around 3:00 a.m. at a private hospital in Bengaluru, where he had been undergoing treatment for the past two days.
A native of Rayachoti in Annamayya district, Palakonda Rayudu was admitted to the hospital after his health condition deteriorated. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his illness, leaving behind a legacy that spans decades of public service and political leadership.
Political Legacy
Widely known for his deep-rooted connection with the people of Rayachoti, Palakonda Rayudu served four terms as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the Rayachoti constituency and was elected once to the Lok Sabha from Rajampet. His political career spanned across the leadership eras of Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, and Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, earning him bipartisan respect and admiration.
