In a heartwarming gesture of dedication and community service, Anisetty Seetharamaraju, a government school teacher from Gollaprolu in Kakinada district, has taken it upon himself to resolve a critical issue affecting students’ attendance at Surampeta Primary School.
After noticing a steady decline in student turnout—only five students currently attend—Seetharamaraju identified the core issue: lack of a safe and accessible route to the school. Parents shared their concerns, explaining that their children had to dangerously navigate the edge of a sewer near a railway underpass just to reach the school.
Determined to find a solution, Seetharamaraju invested Rs. 1 lakh from his own savings to construct a footbridge over a nearby crop canal. This bridge, now nearing completion, is expected to provide a safe and direct path for students, potentially improving attendance and ensuring children can access education without risking their safety.
The selfless act drew praise from Minister Nara Lokesh, who took to social media to commend the teacher. Sharing a related article from Eenadu titled “The Master Who Teaches Lessons… He Paved the Way for School!”, the minister wrote:
“A guide who not only teaches children about education but also showed them the way—literally—to school. You are super, sir. Congratulations to teacher Anisetty Seetharamaraju for building a footbridge with his own funds to help students safely reach Surampeta Primary School.”
This inspiring initiative serves as a powerful reminder of how one individual’s commitment can make a lasting difference in the lives of many, especially when it comes to children’s education.
