Congress MLC Teenmar Mallanna Files Complaint Against ‘Pushpa: The Rule’ for Disrespecting Police

Congress MLC Teenmar Mallanna has lodged a formal complaint at the Medipally Police Station in Medchal-Malkajgiri district against director Sukumar, actor Allu Arjun, and the producers of the film Pushpa: The Rule. The complaint alleges that certain scenes in the film depict the police force in a disrespectful and degrading manner.

Speaking to the media after filing the complaint, Teenmar Mallanna expressed his discontent over specific scenes that he claimed belittled the police. One particular scene that stood out to him involved a sandalwood smuggler ramming into a police officer’s car, causing the officer to fall into a swimming pool. According to Mallanna, the scene was further compounded by the suggestion that someone urinates in the pool, adding humiliation to the portrayal of the officer.

Mallanna called for strict action against the film’s director Sukumar, lead actor Allu Arjun, and the producers for including such scenes. He also raised questions about the role of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) in approving these scenes without any cuts. “Why did the censor board approve these scenes? What kind of message are we giving to society with such movies?” Mallanna questioned, stressing that films like Pushpa: The Rule not only insult the police force but could also mislead audiences about the importance of respecting law enforcement.

The MLC emphasized the need for authorities to promote films that carry meaningful messages while discouraging content that degrades individuals or institutions. He urged for action against filmmakers who engage in creating such controversial and potentially harmful content.
