Protests and Controversies
Prior to the TGPSC exams, aspirants protested at various locations across Telangana, calling for a postponement of the examinations until the Telangana High Court could address their appeals against Government Order (GO) 29. This order had altered the reservation rules, prompting concerns among candidates. The protests garnered support from opposition parties, including the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Despite the protests, the Supreme Court declined to delay the exams, allowing the TGPSC to proceed with the testing process aimed at filling 563 Group 1 positions across multiple state government departments.
