Verbal Duel in Telangana Assembly as BRS and Congress Clash Over Budget
The Telangana Assembly witnessed a fiery session today with intense exchanges between Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and BRS (Telangana Rashtra Samithi-Bharatiya Rashtriya Samithi) working president KTR (K. Taraka Rama Rao).
Unlike the situation in Andhra Pradesh where the opposition YSR Congress is absent from the house, the BRS faction was actively present in Telangana. The session was marked by a heavy-duty verbal duel primarily revolving around the union budget’s zero allocations to Telangana.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy initiated the exchange by questioning the absence of Chief Minister KCR (K. Chandrashekar Rao) during the assembly debates on the union budget. KTR swiftly responded, asserting that the BRS MLAs present were competent to address any challenges without KCR’s presence, and challenged Revanth to a debate.
Revanth countered by emphasizing the self-reliance of Congress MLAs, contrasting them with the legacy-dependent politics of KTR and his family.
The exchange escalated further when KTR accused Revanth of securing the Chief Minister’s seat through financial dealings with Delhi bosses, prompting a heated confrontation between the two leaders.
In a bold move, Revanth concluded by challenging KCR to lead a hunger strike in Delhi to secure better financial support for Telangana from the central government.
The assembly session resembled a high-voltage political match with both BRS and Congress heavyweights engaging in sharp attacks and counterattacks, reflecting the intense political climate in Telangana.
