Hyderabad: BJP MLA from Mudhol, Pawar Rama Rao Patel, has strongly criticized the arrest of Hanuman Deeksha devotees by the Nirmal police for protesting during a rally led by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) working president K T Rama Rao (KTR) in Bhainsa.
Rao condemned the devotees’ detention, citing their objections to KTR’s remarks concerning Lord Ram. “It is unacceptable for KTR to make controversial statements regarding the ‘Jai Shri Ram’ slogan at certain gatherings. This appears to be a conspiracy orchestrated by the BRS and Congress parties,” Pawar Rama Rao stated.
The Nirmal police have apprehended 23 individuals in connection with the disturbances during KTR’s rally on Thursday, May 9. Janaki Sharmila, Superintendent of Police for Nirmal district, affirmed that arrests were made based on CCTV evidence and assured that all individuals involved would be held accountable. She further asserted that police patrols have been intensified to maintain peace in the area.
During KTR’s roadshow in Bhainsa, a group dressed in Hanuman Deeksha attire reportedly threw onions and tomatoes, causing a brief disturbance. The individuals displayed placards criticizing BRS leaders and accused Rama Rao of offending their religious sentiments by exploiting Lord Ram’s name for electoral gains.
Expressing dissatisfaction with the arrests, BJP MLA Pawar Rama Rao pledged his full support to the detainees, emphasizing the need for a fair resolution to the situation.
