Telangana CM Directs Education Overhaul, Focuses on Government School Strengthening
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has issued directives to Education Department Secretary Burra Venkatesham to revamp government schools within three years, as part of the state government’s new education policy.
Under the new initiatives, the Chief Minister has instructed officials to formulate plans for the enhancement of all government schools. This includes proposals for the establishment of semi-residential schools alongside integrated residential schools across Telangana.
The reforms aim to bolster the education system across the state and were discussed during a meeting convened by Revanth Reddy on Friday. Additionally, plans are underway to introduce educational facilities up to the third standard in Anganwadi centers, similar to Play Schools.
“All students should have access to quality education in their native villages,” stated a communication from the Telangana Chief Minister’s office. Revanth Reddy emphasized the need to recruit an additional teacher for Anganwadi centers to facilitate these educational reforms.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister emphasized the establishment of semi-residential schools up to the fourth standard, ensuring transportation facilities for students enrolled in these institutions.
Education department officials have been instructed to collaborate with educational experts to finalize plans for a pilot project to be implemented in select mandals. Revanth Reddy also urged officials to utilize Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds, in addition to government allocations, to enhance facilities for students in government schools.
