Telangana CM A Revanth Reddy Visits Delhi to Invite Congress Leaders for Warangal Public Meeting on Farm Loan Waiver
New Delhi – Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy of Telangana arrived in New Delhi on Sunday for a crucial two-day visit aimed at extending invitations to top Congress leaders for a forthcoming public meeting in Warangal. The event will focus on highlighting the implementation of the state’s farm-debt waiver programmes.
Sources revealed that Chief Minister Reddy plans to meet with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and is also seeking an audience with former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi to secure their participation in the public meet. The meeting aims to emphasize the significance of the farm-loan waiver initiative announced during the state’s Assembly poll campaign.
Telangana recently initiated the first phase of its loan waiver scheme on July 18, disbursing Rs 6,098 crore directly into farmers’ bank accounts to alleviate debts up to Rs 1 lakh. The scheme is structured to unfold in three phases, with subsequent phases targeting higher loan limits progressively through July and August.
CM Revanth Reddy’s visit to Delhi underscores the pivotal role of the farm loan waiver in the Congress government’s agenda, reflecting its electoral promise that resonated strongly with voters in the southern state.
