Severe Cold Wave Hits Telangana, IMD Issues Weather Alert
Telangana is currently grappling with a severe cold wave, as icy winds sweep across the region, causing significant discomfort to residents. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Hyderabad center has issued a weather alert, forecasting that the cold spell will persist until Saturday, December 14. The IMD has warned that several districts in the state will experience intense cold winds, with temperatures potentially dropping as low as 5°C.
Over the past two days, Adilabad has recorded some of the lowest minimum temperatures, while districts such as Nirmal, Medak, and Sangareddy have experienced temperatures dipping below 10°C, leading to severe discomfort for local residents. The cold wave is expected to have the most significant impact on areas like Adilabad, Kumram Bheem, Mancherial, and Nirmal districts.
The IMD has urged people to take necessary precautions, particularly during the early mornings and evenings when the cold is most intense. Residents are advised to wear warm clothing to protect themselves from the biting cold.
In addition to the cold weather, IMD has predicted overcast skies for Hyderabad city until December 15, with foggy conditions expected in many parts. Areas including Charminar, Khairatabad, Kukatpally, LB Nagar, Secunderabad, and Serilingampally are likely to experience cloudy and misty conditions during this period.
