Telangana Government Announces Half-Day School Sessions Amid Rising Summer Temperatures
In response to the soaring temperatures this summer, the Telangana state government has issued key directives to safeguard the health of students. The government has mandated that all government and private schools in the state adopt half-day sessions starting from March 15.
According to the official instructions, schools will operate from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM to ensure that students are not exposed to the extreme heat during the peak hours of the day. This decision aims to prioritize student well-being during the hot summer months.
Additionally, the government has declared summer holidays starting on April 20. However, schools serving as examination centers for the Class 10 board exams will be allowed to conduct afternoon sessions if necessary, depending on the schedule of the examinations.
The government’s directive also calls on school managements and principals to make necessary arrangements to ensure the smooth implementation of this new schedule, including adjusting transportation and infrastructure needs. These steps are being taken to ensure that students can continue their education without compromising their health in the face of rising temperatures.
