Over 546,000 Candidates Appear for Telangana Group-3 Exams Amid Confusion and Delays
Hyderabad: A total of 546,020 candidates appeared for the written examinations for 1,365 Group-3 service posts in Telangana on Sunday, November 17. The exams were held in two sessions—Paper-1 in the morning with 273,847 candidates and Paper-2 in the afternoon with 272,173 candidates. The overall attendance rate was recorded at 50.7%.
The exams were conducted across 1,401 centres statewide with strict security measures in place. However, a few candidates faced issues, with four aspirants from Bhadradri Kothagudem district being denied entry after arriving late. The candidates had mistakenly gone to the wrong centre in Kothagudem, instead of Palvancha, due to confusion caused by similar names of the exam centres. Despite their efforts to reach the correct centre, the authorities refused entry as it was past the 9 am deadline.
One of the affected candidates, Saramma from Ilandu, shared her experience, stating that her hall ticket had listed the wrong exam centre and she had arrived on time at the wrong location. She blamed the exam authorities for not properly indicating the centre details on the hall ticket, leading to her inability to attend the exam.
The Group-3 examination process will continue with Paper-3 scheduled for Monday, November 18, from 10 am to 12:30 pm, marking the conclusion of the statewide test.
