Over 1 Lakh Engineering Seats Up for Grabs in Telangana; Web Option Window Open Until July 10

The Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) announced that a total of 1,07,218 engineering seats are available across 171 colleges in the state for the 2025–26 academic year. Of these, 76,795 seats (approximately 70%) will be filled under the Convenor quota.

The announcement coincides with the opening of the web options window for TGEAPCET-2025 qualified candidates, who can select their preferred colleges and courses until July 10. The deadline for certificate verification is July 8, and so far, 76,494 candidates have completed the verification process. In total, 95,654 candidates have paid the processing fee and booked slots.

Sridevasena, Commissioner of Technical Education and Convenor of TGEAPCET-2025, urged students to maximize their options during this phase to secure admission to better colleges and preferred courses.

Breakdown of Available Seats

  • 21 constituent colleges under 10 universities: 5,808 seats
  • 2 private university colleges: 1,800 seats (1,260 under Convenor quota)
  • 148 private unaided colleges: 99,610 seats (69,727 under Convenor quota)

The Council also provided a branch-wise seat distribution across 47 engineering colleges. Key highlights include:

  • Computer Science and Engineering: 26,150 seats
  • CSE (AI & ML): 12,495 seats
  • Electronics & Communication Engineering: 10,125 seats
  • CSE (Data Science): 6,996 seats
  • Electrical & Electronics Engineering: 4,301 seats
  • Information Technology: 3,681 seats
  • Civil Engineering: 3,129 seats
  • Mechanical Engineering: 2,994 seats
  • CSE (Cybersecurity): 1,439 seats
  • AI & Data Science: 1,235 seats

Some niche specializations, including Agricultural Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Metallurgy, and Mechatronics, have very limited availability, with only 30 to 42 seats each.

As the counselling process continues, students are advised to stay updated through the official TSCHE portal and make informed choices to secure seats in their preferred institutions.
