Telangana to Form Board for Yadadri Temple Management
Hyderabad: The Telangana government has announced plans to establish a management board for the Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple at Yadadri, modeled after the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) board. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy instructed officials to initiate the formation of this board to oversee the temple’s operations and development.
In a recent meeting, Chief Minister Reddy emphasized the need for a structured approach to managing the temple’s affairs, akin to the TTD, which administers the renowned Venkateshwara Swamy temple in Tirumala, Andhra Pradesh. He called for a detailed report on the pending development works and the necessary steps to enhance amenities for devotees.
The Yadadri temple, often referred to as Telangana’s Tirumala, underwent extensive renovation under the previous Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government, with an investment of Rs 1,800 crore. Reddy stressed that the ongoing development should not be left incomplete and urged for advancements to elevate the temple’s status further.
Additionally, Reddy requested an update on the Yadadri Temple Development Authority (YTDA) and expedited progress on the gold plating of the Raja Gopuram. The plating, which requires 125 kg of gold, has received significant contributions from donors, including nearly 30 kg from corporate and public figures.
The temple’s renovation, inaugurated in March 2022, was a major project under former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), who envisioned developing Yadadri in the same vein as Tirumala. The new initiative, SPEED (Smart, Proactive, Efficient, and Effective Delivery), aims to ensure the timely completion of 19 key development projects, including those related to the temple.
