A total of 1488 sets of nominations were submitted by 893 candidates between April 18 and April 25 for the 17 Lok Sabha constituencies in Telangana, scheduled to go to polls on May 13.
On the final day of nominations, April 25, a total of 632 nominations were filed.
The highest number of nominations, 177 sets submitted by 114 candidates, were received for the Malkajgiri Lok Sabha seat.
The forthcoming Lok Sabha elections are expected to witness robust competition in specific constituencies due to the substantial number of nominations submitted by the deadline on April 25. Most of the nominations received on the last day were from independent candidates.
Following Malkajgiri, Nalgonda and Bhongir constituencies each received 114 nominations, trailed by Peddapalli with 109. Nagarkurnool (SC) constituency recorded the lowest number of nominations, with 53 submissions.
Karimnagar saw 94 nominations, Chevella 88, Hyderabad 85, Secunderabad 75, Mahabubnagar 69, Zaheerabad 68, Mahbubabad 56, and Adilabad received 42 nominations.
