Two militant groups, Peoples Anti-Fascist Front (PAFF) and The Resistance Front (TRF), have denied involvement in the recent attack on a bus carrying pilgrims in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district, condemning the attack as “inhuman and cowardly.”
On June 9, a 53-seater bus traveling from Shiv Khori temple to Katra veered off the road and fell into a gorge following gunshots, resulting in the deaths of 10 people and injuring 33. Initial reports suggested that TRF, a shadow group of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), had claimed responsibility for the attack. However, both PAFF and TRF have issued statements distancing themselves from the incident.
TRF stated, “The news circulating on social media claiming TRF’s responsibility for the Reasi attack is incorrect. We want to make it clear that only content directly uploaded on our official media channels represents us.”
Similarly, PAFF condemned the attack on innocent passengers, calling it a cowardly act. Their statement read, “The bloodthirsty instigators of the Gujarat riots have resurfaced, and the BJP/RSS, the enemies of humanity, are spilling innocent blood for political gains. This attack on innocent pilgrims fits their pattern of religious polarization and violence.”
PAFF emphasized that they target Indian military forces and would not stoop to attacking civilians. They also called for an independent investigation into the incident, expressing their willingness to cooperate fully.
Both groups have distanced themselves from the attack, emphasizing that their focus remains on combating Indian forces and that the attack on innocent pilgrims does not align with their objectives.
