TTD to Boost Laddu Production to Meet Growing Demand
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has unveiled plans to address the increasing demand for its iconic laddu prasadam, a revered offering to devotees at the Tirumala temple. Known for its spiritual significance, the laddu is not only an essential offering during temple visits but is also shared by devotees with family and friends. However, due to the high demand and purchase limitations, many devotees have often faced disappointment. In response, TTD has decided to scale up production to ensure that all devotees’ needs are met.
Recruiting Additional Staff for Enhanced Production
To meet the rising demand, TTD is recruiting additional personnel to expand its workforce. The recruitment will include 74 Vaishnavas and 10 non-Vaishnavas, who will help increase the daily laddu production. With the addition of new staff, TTD aims to produce 50,000 additional small laddus, 4,000 large laddus, and 3,500 vadas each day. Although the current production meets the regular demand, special occasions such as weekends, festivals, and Brahmotsavams see a significant spike in laddu requests, necessitating the production boost.
Distribution of Free and Paid Laddus
Currently, every devotee visiting Lord Venkateswara’s temple is provided one small laddu free of charge. On average, the temple welcomes around 70,000 devotees daily, requiring the distribution of 70,000 free laddus. With the enhanced production capacity, TTD plans to offer additional laddus for sale to devotees who wish to take more home, ensuring that all requests are fulfilled without delay.
Current Production and Distribution Scope
At present, TTD produces approximately 3.5 lakh small laddus, 6,000 large Kalyanam laddus, and 3,500 vadas daily. These offerings are not limited to the Tirumala temple but are also distributed at other TTD temples located in Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Tirupati, ensuring that devotees across various regions can partake in this sacred prasadam.
This expansion in laddu production and distribution reflects TTD’s commitment to fulfilling the spiritual needs of its devotees, ensuring that the sacred offering is available to all who seek it.
