Lokesh Naidu Reflects on Political Journey and Family Support at Las Vegas Summit
Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Lokesh Naidu, son of former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, has made significant strides in his political career over the past decade. Currently on a trip to the USA to promote Andhra Pradesh as an attractive destination for foreign investments, Lokesh shared insights into his political journey during his speech at the IT Serve Alliance Synergy Summit 2024 in Las Vegas.
In his address, Lokesh revealed how his father’s arrest profoundly impacted his wife, Nara Brahmani’s, perspective on politics. Initially, Brahmani had advised Lokesh against pursuing a political career due to the numerous challenges and hurdles he might encounter. The anxiety surrounding Chandrababu’s arrest heightened their apprehensions, leading Brahmani to question the value of politics, especially given the sacrifices Chandrababu had made for the welfare of the state.
However, a turning point came when the Telugu diaspora and thousands of IT professionals in Hyderabad and Bengaluru rallied in support of Chandrababu during his arrest by the government led by Jagan Mohan Reddy. This widespread support transformed Brahmani’s view on political involvement. Lokesh noted that after witnessing the solidarity and protests, she no longer opposed his political ambitions.
Expressing his gratitude, Lokesh acknowledged the unwavering support from the Telugu community worldwide, emphasizing how it played a crucial role during this challenging period. His commitment to advancing Andhra Pradesh’s interests on the global stage continues to resonate with both local and international audiences, highlighting his evolution as a key figure in the region’s political landscape.
