Omar Al Marzouqi Advances to Final Stage of Individual Show Jumping at Paris 2024
Omar Al Marzouqi, a key rider for the UAE’s national show jumping team, has successfully advanced to the final stage of the individual event at the 33rd Olympic Games in Paris, which runs from July 26 to August 11.
Al Marzouqi achieved a notable 21st place with a single fault and a time of 79.56 seconds. He will continue to compete tomorrow, Tuesday, alongside 30 other riders in the final rounds.
The UAE’s national team, comprising three riders—Abdullah Al Marri, Salem Al Suwaidi, and Omar Al Marzouqi—competed in the individual show jumping event with a total of 75 participants. Salem Al Suwaidi started the qualifying rounds with 16 faults and a time of 76.42 seconds, while Abdullah Al Marri withdrew to ensure the well-being of his horse.
The team’s strong performance underscores the UAE’s growing presence in international equestrian sports.
