Union Finance Ministry Urges Insurance Companies to Provide Full Support for Flood Victims in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh
Hyderabad: The Union Finance Ministry has called on insurance companies to extend comprehensive support to individuals affected by the recent floods in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
In a statement on social media platform X, the ministry announced that it had issued directives to public sector insurance firms, stressing the importance of swift and effective assistance. The directive includes expedited claim settlements and the establishment of special camps to facilitate the claims process, ensuring prompt relief for flood victims.
The ministry’s post outlined, “In response to the severe rains and flooding in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the Department of Financial Services (@DFS_India @FinMinIndia) has directed public sector insurance companies to provide full support to those affected. Insurance companies are instructed to ensure quick claim settlements by organizing special camps and simplifying the claims process. Additionally, they are required to widely publicize the names and contact details of nodal officers for policyholders to reach out to. The Central Government and @FinMinIndia are committed to aiding those impacted by this disaster and ensuring they receive necessary assistance promptly.”
