Hyderabad Positioned as a Global Investment Destination: Uttam Kumar Reddy
Hyderabad is set to emerge as a prominent global investment destination, competing with leading metropolises worldwide, announced Civil Supplies and Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy.
Addressing the inauguration of the IGBC Green Property Show 2024 at Hitex on Friday, Uttam Kumar Reddy emphasized the Congress Government’s commitment to projecting Hyderabad as a truly global city on all fronts.
Highlighting the city’s robust infrastructure, including the international airport, Outer Ring Road, expressways, flyovers, and access to drinking water from the Godavari and Krishna Rivers, Reddy credited their development primarily to the Congress Government’s initiatives from 2004 to 2014. “We are poised to elevate Hyderabad’s infrastructure to unprecedented levels,” he affirmed.
Assuring stakeholders across the state and country, Reddy underscored the Telangana Congress Government’s determination to elevate Hyderabad and Telangana to global prominence. “Perception drives real estate significantly. Our administration will catalyze momentum in the construction and real estate sectors to spur investment,” he asserted.
Reflecting on their five-month tenure, with a significant portion focused on electoral mandates, Reddy highlighted their renewed focus on governance. “We are now fully committed to addressing industry, construction, and real estate challenges proactively,” he assured.
Earlier, IT & Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu outlined the government’s ambitious goal of doubling IT exports from Hyderabad within the next four years, positioning the city as a global hub for data warehouses. “We are committed to enhancing the ease of doing business, ensuring a more flexible, friendly, and supportive environment for industries,” he added.
The event also featured addresses by IGBC National Vice Chairman C. Shekar Reddy, CII IGBC Deputy Executive Director M. Anand, and IGBC Hyderabad Chapter Co-Chair Srinivas Murthy. They highlighted the substantial growth of the green building movement, with Telangana contributing significantly through over 800 projects covering approximately 1.12 billion square feet of green building footprint.
