Asaduddin Owaisi Reacts Humorously to Solapur Police Notice Ahead of Maharashtra Elections
Hyderabad: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) President and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi humorously addressed a notice he received from the Solapur Police, which cautioned him against making any statements that could hurt the sentiments of people from other religions. Speaking at a public meeting, Owaisi read out the notice to his supporters and shared the response his legal team had submitted in reply.
While commenting on the notice, Owaisi joked, “Still 15 minutes left,” a remark that immediately resonated with the crowd. The comment was widely seen as an indirect reference to a famous incident involving his brother, AIMIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi, who had made a controversial “15 minutes” remark years ago. The remark sparked significant political debate at the time. Following his quip, Asaduddin Owaisi, with a smile, added, “Very sorry,” acknowledging the lighthearted nature of his comment.
The response generated laughter from the crowd, but it also highlighted the tensions surrounding religious sensitivities, especially in the run-up to the Maharashtra Assembly elections, set for November 20.
Maharashtra Polls and AIMIM’s Campaign
As the political temperature rises in Maharashtra ahead of the Assembly elections, Owaisi’s AIMIM party is intensifying its efforts to make a significant impact. The party is contesting 16 constituencies in the state, with Asaduddin Owaisi leaving no stone unturned to ensure a strong showing. The Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance, which includes the Shiv Sena, NCP, and Congress, is also engaged in intense campaigning, hoping to wrest control from the ruling MahaYuti alliance.
Owaisi’s candid remarks and the AIMIM’s campaign in Maharashtra are part of a larger strategy to expand the party’s influence in the state, where it has been gaining support among the minority communities. As the election day nears, Owaisi’s remarks continue to generate attention, particularly his humorous yet pointed comments that resonate with his political base.
