Prakash Raj Criticizes Pawan Kalyan; BJP’s Vishnu Vardhan Reddy Responds
Prominent actor Prakash Raj recently sparked a political controversy with his comments aimed at Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan. Raj suggested that Kalyan should focus on his constituency of Pithapuram before commenting on the political affairs of other states. “First, look after your constituency. Is it really necessary to worry now about the politics and problems of states like Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu?” Raj questioned in a public statement.
These remarks were reportedly in response to Pawan Kalyan’s comments on the issues faced by fishermen in Tamil Nadu. Kalyan had recently addressed the challenges faced by the fishing community in the state, a topic which seemed to have drawn Raj’s ire.
In retaliation, Andhra Pradesh BJP Vice President Vishnu Vardhan Reddy issued a sharp counter to Prakash Raj’s statements. Reddy accused the actor of seeking attention by criticizing Pawan Kalyan while having little to show for his own political ambitions. “Apart from staying in the news by criticizing Pawan Kalyan, Prakash Raj has achieved little in the political arena,” Reddy remarked.
He also took a jibe at Raj’s previous political endeavors, questioning the actor’s impact after contesting as an MP in the past. “Pawan Kalyan entered politics and, with public support, rose to the position of Deputy Chief Minister. You too entered politics and contested as an MP in the past. What have you achieved?” Reddy questioned, emphasizing Kalyan’s political rise in comparison to Raj’s political career.
The comments from both Raj and Reddy highlight the ongoing political tensions and debates surrounding public figures who have ventured into politics, drawing attention to their public roles and performances.
