Vodafone Idea Launches 5G Services in Mumbai, Plans Expansions Across India
Vodafone Idea has officially launched its much-anticipated 5G services, initially available in Mumbai. The telecom provider aims to extend its 5G offerings to other key cities such as Delhi, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Patna, and Mysuru next month. Over the next three years, Vodafone Idea plans to expand its 5G network to 100 cities across 17 circles, marking a significant step in the company’s technological evolution.
The 5G services are now accessible to customers through an Unlimited Add-On plan, starting at ₹299. Chief Technology Officer Jagbir Singh revealed that after the first phase of expansion, Vodafone Idea will focus on Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala, and Chennai.
In addition to its 5G rollout, Vodafone Idea is also in talks with several firms to provide satellite services to areas that lack traditional infrastructure like fiber cables and cell towers, further enhancing its network capabilities.
With the launch of its 5G services, Vodafone Idea is positioning itself as a key player in India’s fast-evolving telecom sector.
